Hello, I'm Kayla

LT Stables is much more than a business—it’s the fulfillment of a lifelong dream built around my love for horses and my belief that every horse deserves individualized, exceptional care.

I have been riding and working with horses for over 10 years, with experience in both Western and English riding, trail riding, training, and endurance riding. In 2020, I turned my passion into LT Stables, creating the kind of farm I had always envisioned: a peaceful, private place where horses receive outstanding care and their owners can truly enjoy being at the barn.

What I am most proud of is the atmosphere that has grown at LT Stables. The barn is intentionally kept quiet, family-friendly, welcoming, and drama-free. I value open communication between boarders and staff and take pride in the friendships that have formed within the barn family. From excellent year-round forage to care tailored to each individual horse, I work hard to make sure both horses and their people feel at home.

Known for being friendly, hardworking, fair, and knowledgeable, I bring a hands-on and personal approach to everything I do. Whether someone is looking for a trusted place to board their horse, searching for the right horse to lease, or wanting a safe and welcoming environment for themselves or their child to learn to ride, I strive to make every experience at LT Stables a positive one.

Outside of the barn, I am a nurse, wife to Jason, and mom of two. I also have five equines of my own, including Ghost, my trusted endurance riding partner. Horses are not simply part of my work—they are a major part of my life, and that passion is at the heart of everything I have created at LT Stables.

At LT Stables, you’re not just finding a place for your horse—you’re finding a peaceful barn community where quality care, communication, and a genuine love for horses come first.

Hello I'm Karis

Horses have been a part of my life since I started riding at just three years old. I’ve had my sweet mare, June, for six years. She recently came out of retirement to take on the very important job of “babysitter horse” and loves carrying some of our smallest riders around the farm.

I also casually compete in hunter paces and endurance rides with my boy, Raven, whom I trained from a zero-mile youngster into a seasoned endurance partner. I have experience in both Western and English disciplines and enjoy working with riders of all experience levels—from first-time riders and pleasure riders to those interested in competition. I also have experience with starting young horses, tune-ups, and continued training.

Outside of the barn, I work full-time in pediatric therapy, primarily with children with autism, ADHD, and developmental disorders. I also spent six years volunteering in equine therapy. Combining my experience with horses and children is something I truly enjoy, and I’m happy to offer adaptive lesson options for riders with special needs.

Hello I'm Terry

I’m the landowner here at LT Stables and Kayla’s father-in-law. I was born and raised right here in Zebulon, and this property has been a part of my family for my entire life. Long before it became home to LT Stables, the land was used for raising cattle and tobacco farming, so agriculture has always been a big part of my life.

I have a degree in Agriculture and spent my career working for Old Mule Hay & Feed. After retiring, I traded retirement for working at LT Stables full time. These days, you’ll usually find me behind the scenes keeping the farm running—driving the tractor, maintaining pastures and fencing, making repairs, feeding horses, mowing, and tackling whatever project needs to be done next.

I take a lot of pride in keeping the property safe, functional, and well maintained for the horses and everyone who calls LT home. I’m hardworking, dependable, easygoing, and rarely sitting still for long!

Outside of the farm, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Donna, our three grown children, and our handful of grandchildren. It means a lot to me to see the land I grew up on continue as a family-run farm and become the home of LT Stables.
